You weren't meant to follow Jesus alone

Most serious Christians I know aren’t struggling with belief. They attend.
They receive.
They listen.
They care deeply.
And yet many quietly feel that their lives are being shaped more by work, technology, anxiety, and culture than by the way of Jesus. They don’t need more information.
They don’t need more intensity.
They need an environment.
Sacramental grace is real.
God is generous.
The Church is not empty.
But grace is meant to be cooperated with. And that requires a shared way of life.Over the past few years, I’ve become convinced of something:If we don’t build communities intentionally, something else will form us by default. So we’re starting something simple in our city. It’s called On Becoming Love — an 8-week communal formation experience. Not a class.
Not a content series.
More like a lab.
Beginning April 15th, we’ll gather weekly at the St Paul's House in Herring Cove (Stella Maris Parish) from 7:30 to 9:30pm.Each evening is simple:We begin with praise and worship.
We read a short guided reflection — five minutes, not a lecture.
We practice a spiritual discipline together.
And you leave with a concrete practice to carry into your week with your group.
You don’t need to bring anyone. We’ll place you in a small group. What you do need is a willingness to commit. This is eight weeks of showing up — to the same people, the same practices, and the same shared intention. Formation happens through repetition. Depth requires presence. We’re capping this first cohort at 28 people because we believe intimacy matters if we want depth.I believe something is beginning in our city. Not a flashy new program.
Not a trend.
A quiet movement toward communal discipleship.
Small groups of people willing to build environments where it becomes easier to be holy than not.
If that resonates — if you’re longing for a shared life that forms you more deeply than your phone, your job, or the news — I’d love for you to apply. We’ll place you in a group.
We’ll guide you in the practices.
And together, we’ll see what God does when grace is given room to work.
